Green Valley Club: Sports Equipment Donation
The lack of forums and activities that engage youths is one of the
main reasons
why so many young adults in rural areas of Nepal become involved
in the ongoing conflict and other negative activities. Idea Action
donated uniforms, footballs, volleyballs and other sports
equipments to the Green Valley Club.
One of Idea Action’s main objectives is to provide sports programs
that
empower youth and actively engage them in peace-building efforts
at the community level. Idea Action believed that lack of
forum and opportunities always unengaged and open mind youth are
the cause of conflict, violence and other negative activities of
society. This project’s main objective is to provide forums on
sports to empower youth on peace-building, peace-making,
peace-keeping as well as protect themselves form violence. As a
result this project builds a background to develop a culture of
peace and non violence society. One of the main sources of Idea
Action donated sports accessories like, club sport uniform,
football, valley ball and other related accessories for Green
Valley club. Due to lack of club official uniform and other
accessories they were facing problems for performing well. The
donation was done by Shakti Shali Ghimire the president of Idea
Action. Uniform was donated to club representative Buddha Dura on
the special programme of organization in Kathmandu. Idea Action
denoted 15 uniforms, football, valley ball and other related
accessories.

organize a volleyball competition on the auspicious occasion of
Maha
Shivratri on Falgun 25, 2060. More than 600 boys participated in
the competition which awarded prizes and certificates to the
winning teams. By holding the tournament on an auspicious day in
the Nepali
calendar year, the activity also reinforced the importance of
Nepali culture and values.
Idea Action has conducted sports activities in Lamjung, so
that the youths will
be involved in social activities and will not stay idle. Here,
sports activities are conducted for peace. Its main purpose is to keep the youth
away from conflict and to give them
social and moral education. As such to involve the youth
and the children in constructive activities is also a campaign for
peace and non-violence society for cultural development. It is our
desire that such activity should be undertaken in all the villages
of
Nepal.
This project’s main objectives are to provide forum on sports to
e mpower youth and we can transfer awareness programme on moral
education in their
life. Similarly, villagers have fun, which is always involved in
their work. The chief guest of the competition was the Chief
