Glimpse of Idea Action
Communication is the most valuable tool granted to
human beings that makes them superior than any other being. Thus
various modes and means to communicate these information
has been named as Information and Communications Technology. It
has bridged the distances and has made possible
immediate access to information, people and offices. Our
organization believes that
this technology can be used not only as an economic engine of
growth and key of development but also as a tool for fundamental
social change. It can bring greater empowerment, better
transparency and devolution of public offices and institutions to
every networked computer terminal. This tool could help produce an
empowered citizen who will have access to all information and
records having a impact on his/her life. As a consequence, ICT is
an enormously powerful instrument, which helps to explore various
factors and aspects of society and any organization with very less
effort. A dynamic ICT literate in civic society and organizations
is the foundation of development and creation of equitable and
informatics society.
One of the most pressing challenges is to harness
this extraordinary force, disseminate it throughout the world, and
make its benefits accessible and meaningful for all humanity,
basically the youth. We are all aware of the demand and necessity
of ICT in human life – in education, business, social organization
etc. By observing various factors, Idea Action provides ICT
education/training and technical solution through its partner
since 2002. In this state a group of representatives from
Technical field, NGO/GOV along with youths from various
educational, professional backgrounds, ethnicity and geographical
region of Nepal have initiated to form organization to address the
current ICT issues with the support of international community.
Idea Action is working in a national level and launched
an online
forum (www.ideaforum.org) for people all over the world.
Introduction
Idea Action (IA) is a non -
profitable ICT organization, led by professional youth for the
youth. Youth, Human rights, sustainable development related issues
are its prominent activities to develop a culture of peace, non
violent and informative society in Nepal.
It was established with the main
theme of "equal access to the power of knowledge for all
civilization" on 15th December 2004. Implementation & promotion of ICT through advocacy,
awareness, trainings, researches, disseminating information,
publications and conduct events & campaigns as well as maintaining
portal website are the major activities of Idea Action at
grass-roots, regional and national levels.
Idea Action provides a platform for people and
organizations involved in ICT concerned to help them develop
themselves and make necessary positive changes in their community.
It works for the technical section as they lack access to
information, knowledge and skills in many areas that would affect
them. Community groups or organizations have potential and ideas
but they lack orientation. So, we are here to facilitate them to
provide them with the appropriate materials and tools required.
Our Idea (Vision)
Idea Action's vision is to project another Nepal
possibly through ICT, where all people have equal access to the
power of knowledge.
Our Mission
Idea Action's mission is to provide a national
forum on ICT and to promote ICT in Nepal for youth.
Goal
Idea Action's goal is implementation and promotion
of ICT for equal access in Nepal.

Key Target groups
The participants, members, volunteers and activists
of this organization are representatives from national (rural &
urban) and international (Developing & Developed countries) areas.
Most of the members and volunteers of this organization will be
from the technical background and those who have adequate
information, active participation and access on resources. They
will have frequent gathering and discussion on several issues to
assess needs, to plan projects and to go for action from their
level. Balance on Gender, Race, Caste, Ethnicity, Rural-urban
youth will be maintained while selecting the key participants. All
the participants will have equal opportunity in every activities
of this organization.
Board
The leaders of Idea Action will be the academic
professional person from various educational backgrounds like
Youth, Human Rights, Peace & Justice, Renewable energy, ICT,
management, Media and many more. The leaders of Idea Action have
also got good experience related with Technical and
development-concerned activities. The organization is also the
reflection of their previous working experiences associating with
various organizations in nationally and globally. Idea Action has
formed itself especially to enhance technical and group hand
involvement in the nation/global construction process and to
establish them as global leaders in the future.

Resources
Human Resources
There will be five kinds of human resources in the
organization leaders, activists, volunteers, employees and
consultants. The leaders will be in the executive body and
formulate policies and programmes of their respected unit. The
employees will work as implementing body for all fixed policies
and programmes. The volunteers and activists will be active in
grassroots, national and international level and are free to
associate in any units. Similarly, the consultants will be
nominated by the decision of executive body. They will be
responsible to use their expertise for strengthening the
organization. The consultants will be native or foreigners.
Financial resources
Idea Action is run under the mobilization of local
resources that is located at heart of Kathmandu. We also admit
legal donations from international community either for a
permanent project or the overall development of organization. We
at the moment are struggling in our initial stage trying to set up
and sustain by law and by function. Our current financial needs
are targeted to install highly technical items, manage some
creative staff, run some introductory activities, be involved in
the research and study, and build up networking and solidarity
globally. Similarly we are also looking potential individuals and
organization for its long-term partnership and also exchange ideas
and experiences through participating in several national and
international events.
